No Taxation Without Representation (Email Campaign)

"No Taxation Without Representation"

We are humbly requesting the "putting off" of this vote on the Public Utility Tax, until such time as all residents of Deerfield Beach has a duly elected representative sitting at the table during this discussion. We do not believe this is an imposition since it would not take affect until October 2011, anyway.  However, it is an imposition to impose this tax while over 10,000 residents are not represented by the City's Government.

To do so would turn this duly elected Democratic Government into an Ochlocratic Government reigning with the "Tyranny of the Majority".

**Please Note that "No taxation without representation" was coined by Jonathan Mayhew back in 1750 and it is ashame and an affront to Democracy that 311 years later we would have to be discussing this basic principle that this Great Country was founded on in Deerfield Beach, FL.**

If you feel like we do, please feel free to email a copy of this post to the City of Deerfield Beach.  Or you can cut and paste the text and send it via your own email address.

The City's email addresses are as follows:
