Where is Terry Scott? I don't know if Terry is on vacation, on sabitical, or just doesn't care about District 2 anymore. Right now is District 2's most dire time of need and it's most vocal political crusader has been M.I.A since the removal of Sylvia Poitier.
Am I the only one who noticed this?
Terry where are you and all of your political connections.
How many of us have been forced to endure rantings of who he knows and how they can help us in this way or that way. Well, when we really needed him and his contacts they were surprisingly silent? The City just raped us and they stood by as witness to a federal crime. You and the members of the Democratic Party that have so frequently come to us when you need our votes. Well we needed you and you all turned your backs on us.
I should name names so everyone can see the true side of these politician's agenda which is to keep funding their pockets and their friends pockets and then being conveniently unavailable or tied up when we actually need them. I think it is time that we wake up to what they have been doing to our communities for years. Democrat is not synonymous for African-American savior...as I see it right now after living throw the last few weeks and making initial contacts with some of its agents, It seems to be short for "save my own a$$ and take all your cash".
Now, I don't want people to think that I am somehow bashing Democrats, because I am not. What I am doing is informing my community that everything that glitters ain't gold. A candidate with DEM in front of their name does not necessarily indicate the right choice. I am a registered Democrat and have been since I was 17 years old. I made my first political actions during the mid-term elections of 1998, when the political waters were muddied with scandal accusations, and basically every negative attack that could be issued, was. So all of us who came of age in 97/98 we have not had many encouraging political events outside of the election of President Barrack Obama. We have seen and felt the lines drawn in the sand by donkeys and elephants and I think for many of us who have remained, at the very least mindful of the political arena, we have chosen to be more discerning in our political choices. Not being held down to one party or the other, as you can see with the emergence of so many unique political parties on the rise in the last few years and the organizations being littered with individuals in their late twenties and early thirties.
The unfortunate thing here in Deerfield, like many others burbs, is that we have circus trainers like Terry Scott who parade those donkeys and elephants (indiscriminately) around the black community giving a pretty show and so many people tend to vote for the show that was paraded the best. It didn't have to be the show with the best content, or the one who made you think and advanced you socially, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Just as long as the show was "Fabuloussss".
Then Terry and people like him could manage to persuade a vote for the show who employed him. Touting them as the savior of the black community and telling us they will do so much for us. Now don't get me wrong, sometimes even Terry gets it right and brings us someone who does more than fill their pockets on our miseries, such as Barrack Obama and others.
You know something I digress and I am ranting...the point is with all of this and all of his political workings and self-proclaiming champion of civil liberties of the people in District 2, where is he now.
He and so many others have abandoned us and no one seems the lest bit concerned or worried at the total black out that occurred in the last 2 months and then while the lights were out the City has managed to creep into our homes and steal our wallets. heck, this will get so bad that even while you are out in the streets the city will come by and "bump and grab" the change out of your pocket. This tax will find its way into every crevice of our lives. first on our bills, then in the increase in our grocery bills, then in the rent you pay, and so on and so on. Terry, you know this was an injustice perpertrated on our community violating our 14th amendments rights and the mere fact that we couldn't afford this and yet you and your cohorts remained silent.
Shame, shame, shame!!!
I hope my community wakes up and begins to take our own destiny in our hands. These oldways have got to go. We can no longer sit back and wait for somebody to bring us a choice we have to go out and find it. We have to nurture our own choices. We have to stand up for ourselves and fight against injustices that attack our communities. We have to identify, report, exclude the things that are holding us back. It's time that we do overcome and the only thing holding us back is ourselves and our reliance on other people to guide us.
