Re: Need to spend 150K by September 1st - If one remedies the collection of puddles on student footpaths leading to DBHS in front of specifically-listed homes - Will this meet the needs of the current CBDG open bid?
With the City of Deerfield Beach and Ben Preston, who is at the beck abd call of one Beulah Hill...I would not put it pass them to suggest this. As if the residents of that neighborhood can't do things on their own to beautify their own neighborhood. Peggy Noland mentioned that the City donated trees to that same neighborhood with an agreement that the residents would take care of the trees, well those trees are basically dead. Another Beulah Hill initiative (according to her, anyway) Now, Commissioner Ben Preston would like to utilize CDBG funding to create some sort of archway on 15th Street and re-do the road at the high school because we should take pride in our "magnet high school"...I guess that is more important than creating a safe roadway at Hillsboro and MLK and utilizing the CDBG funding or Utility tax dollars to install those "pretty little lights" at that intersection so the little kids, seniors, teens, and all others can safely cross and walk at to their destinations. Oh did I mention they want to also use the CDBG funding to renovate Westside Park and make it like the park the City promised us in 1992 with the BOND dollars that never materialized in our District or at our park.
DeleteSo to answer your question, could the application of CDBG funding be used to fix puddles in the footpaths of DBHS students, with the City of Deerfield Beach they can make a justification to utilize those funds for infrastructure improvements and get the money to attempt just that...WASTED, WASTED, WASTED. Just like the funds from last year that no one was allowed to apply for for Home Rehab, Infrastructure, or other...
